VENUE: (top floor) Groovy Wonderland, Tiger Tiger, The Gate, Newgate Street, Newcastle, NE1 5RE

PARKING: There are numerous city centre carparks available, The Gate has an underground carpark which is very safe. You can access this carpark off ‘Stowell Street’ in the city. There is also an NCP carpark next door to The Gate carpark which is also accessed from ‘Stowell Street’

COMPETITION: This is an AMATEUR pole competition. By entering this competition you are confirming you are a student of a Pole School, for the purposes of this competition you may not enter if you are self-taught. You are entering at you own risk and confirming you are capable of competing in a amateur pole competition.

For this competition only, we class amateur as any person who is a student of a pole school who has not taught or performed for money or gain. This excludes performances similar to and including UK Pole Showcase and Pole Unity.

We do not class amateur as a lap dancer who pole dances as part of the course of their work, we do not class amateur as someone who podium dances with a pole. If you are a lap dancer/pole performer etc please look at our NEW category for 2012 DANCER as you may fit this category :)  If you are unsure please check by contacting NPD via email on info@northernpoledance.co.uk

You’re not an instructor… You’re not a professional… You’re not an amateur! THEN THIS IS THE LEVEL FOR YOU!!

Every year we have students who are unable to enter because they have started dancing in a club as a lap dancer or podium dancer. We also have those who become an instructor assistant in pole classes etc… this means they are unable to enter Northern Pole Princess. This year we’d like to be able to include these people who are in competition limbo!

Importantly these entrants are people who are currently training with a Pole School.

This level is aimed at those with little or no competition experience. “Little” for the purpose of Northern Pole Princess 2012 means no more than 3 previous Professional/Performer Level Pole Competition entries.

YOU MUST NOT HAVE BEEN PLACED (1st, 2nd or 3rd) IN ANY PREVIOUS PROFESSIONAL/PERFORMER LEVEL COMPETITION TO ENTER.

In this category anything goes… PDC syllabus 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are permitted as well as anything else you can come up with! You can perform any move and any combination.

WARDROBE/COSTUME

Ladies: You must wear a minimum of hot pants and sports top. Bra/Bikini tops are forbidden. Hot pants are defined as a full band of material encircling the hips at the level of the hip bones. Covering at least ¾ the surface of the buttocks inferiorly. Knickers are not appropriate attire yet every year someone will always try to wear them – please don’t do it no one wants to see!!! Sports top is defined as a full band of material encircling the chest below the breast, with either two complete straps or a halter-neck strap. The material must cover at least 2/3rds of the surface of the bust in front. Use plenty of ‘tit-tape’ because as with bottoms, no one is interested in seeing bits falling out!!

Gents: You are welcome to perform topless if you want to. Bottoms as for the ladies, please wear 2 pairs for security if necessary its’ just not pleasant seeing anything blowing in the wind…!!

Wardrobe malfunctions are forbidden and you may be asked immediately to leave the stage so please ensure you have secured yourself thoroughly!!

SHOES

You must wear shoes at all times when in the venue, it is a club and despite our best efforts the floors are not free of debris. The ONLY PLACE you are able to go barefoot is on the performance area. You may perform in any form of footwear. Please remember you will be performing on XSTAGES so if you are wearing heels please ensure you have tried them out on an XSTAGE beforehand, the surface of the stages is metal and if you are unfamiliar with this you may find it slippy in heels.
