Northern Pole Dance was launched in the early part of 2008 by company Director Aimee. With many successful years of teaching already under her belt and plenty of encouragment from family and friends Northern Pole Parties was born. The first class was held in Hexham and was extremely well attended by a wide variety of ladies young and old! However not long after launching Northern Pole Parties Aimee got married and subsequantly came home from honeymoon with a little addition to the family on the way. This meant that only 3 months into starting a new business Aimee could no longer pole dance!!… Kelly became a hero and took on all of the teaching while Aimee got stuck into admin… Since those early days things have gone on to be bigger and better than ever. Northern Pole Dance took over from Northern Pole Parties and is now the market leader for Pole Dance in the North East of England.
NPD was the first company to introduce Pole Royalty to the North East, bringing many of the worlds best Pole Dancers and Performers for Masterclasses and events. Northern Pole Princess is NPD’s annual Summer Pole Competition which is growning and expanding every year! Each year the demand for places in this competition gets higher and the level of competitors increase. But we still ensure that even the most beginner level students can take part. Our compeititon is designed for everyone to have the chance to take part in a fair environment and we’re very strict on the rules to ensure the competition is as well respected as it is now.
Christmas time rolls around and sees the NPD girls have the chance to perform for friends and family in a relaxed atmosphere followed by a meal and a party long into the early hours! With fancy dress being an essential part of things!
There are impromptu outdoor Pole Gatherings and Monthly FREE polejams for students as well as numerous other performance and competition opportunities. Northern Pole Dance prides itself on being the first ones in the North East to be part of all Pole related activities (and usually the last ones to leave)
